correct is 36 + 64 = (10)^2 instead of 62 + 82

Question:

Solve the following series.

6, 9, \(\sqrt[]{117}\), 3, 5, \(\sqrt[]{34}\), 15, 20, 25, 12, 16, 20, 6, 8, ?, 11, 15, \(\sqrt[]{346}\)
Options:
A) \(\sqrt[]{105}\)
B) 10
C)

\(\sqrt[]{10}\)

D) \(\sqrt[]{146}\)
E) None of these
Solution:
Ans: (b) The given sequence of number follows the pattern:
On applying Pythagoras theorem,

62 + 92 = \(\left ( \sqrt[]{117} \right )^2\)

32+ 52 = \(\left ( \sqrt[]{34} \right )^2\)

152 + 202 = \(\left ( 25 \right )^2\)

122 + 162 = \(\left ( 20 \right )^2\)

62 + 82 = \(\left ( 10 \right )^2\)

112 + 152  = \(\left ( \sqrt[]{346} \right )^2\)

Therefore, Missing number = \(6^2 + 8^2 = \underline{(10)}^2\)
