two errors (Question: 62538.4 )

my question is can we use "is" in the place of "was"

Question:
Directions : In the following questions, some of the sentences have errors of adjective and some have none. Find out which part of a sentence has an error: If there is no error; mark your answer as ‘No error'.
Everyone was surprised to note (a) / that  Rahul married a girl (b) / who was more beautiful and more tall (c) / than he is. (d) / No Error (e)

Solution:
Ans-(c): Replace ‘more tall’ by ‘taller’.
