Time and work

A and B can separately complete a piece of work in 20 days and 30 days respectively. They worked together for some time then B left the work. If A completed the rest of the work in 10 days, then B worked for how many days?

A = 20 days
B = 30 days
their L.C.M = 60 , so total work is 60 units
and the efficiency of A = 3 and B =2 , A finished it in 10 days after B left , so A's 1day efficiency * 10 days
that is , 3 * 10 = 30 so A alone completed 30 units work and remaining work is 60 -- 30 = 30 units , so that A and B both
completed 30 units work . the efficiency of A + B = 5 , total days = total remaining work / total efficiency of both , 30/5=6d
so that B left the work after 6 days
