450 is not cp, so please replace the word "bought" with "sold"

Question:
A person bought two watches for Rs. 480. He sold one at a loss of 15% and the other at a profit of 19% and he found that each watch was sold at the same price. Find the cost price of the two watches.
Options:
A) Rs.280, Rs.200
B) Rs.250, Rs.280
C) Rs.380, Rs.300
D) Rs.350, Rs.450
E) None of these
Solution:

S.P.1 = S.P.2

\(\frac{85}{100}\) × x =  \(\frac{119}{100}\) × y

And ,85 x = 119 y

\(\frac{x}{y}\) =  \(\frac{7}{5}\)

∴ 1st watch = \(\frac{7}{12}\)× 480 = 280

Second watch = \(\frac{5}{12}\) × 480 =  Rs. 200
