just because the ratio of boys to girls in the school is given it doesn't mean that the pass:fail ratio is in accordance to it.
For eg : all the failed students may be from boys .

Question:
DIRECTIONS: Following pie-chart shows the percentage distribution of total students who appeared in board exam from different schools. The table shows the ratio of the number of boys to that of girls and the ratio of passed to failed students.

Total number of students who appearance in exam = 48000
SchoolBoys : GirlsPass : Fail
A5 : 32 : 1
B9 : 71 : 1
C2 : 33 : 2
D6 : 78 : 5
E3 : 12 : 1
F8 : 73 : 2
What is the total number of girls who failed from School C, if the number of failed students are in the same ratio in boys and girls both?
Options:
A) 3840
B) 1920
C) 2304
D) 1536
E) None of these.
Solution:
Number of students appeared from school 'C' =\(48000 × \cfrac{20}{100} = 9600\)

Total number of girls who failed from school 'C'=\(9600 ×\cfrac{3}{5}×\cfrac{2}{5}=2304.\)
