Question:
A wall of 48 meter long, 36 meter wide and 24 meter high is made up of 2 x 3 x 6 bricks. If a window occupies 1/12th of the volume of the wall, find the number of bricks?
Options:
A) 1053
B) 1054
C) 1055
D) 1056
E) None of these
Solution:

Ans: (d) Volume of wall = 48 x 36 x 24 = 41472m³

1/12 of volume of wall = 41472/12 = 3456m³

Volume of wall occupied by bricks = 41472 – 3456 = 38016m³

Volume of bricks = 2 x 3 x 6 = 36m³

No. of bricks = \(\cfrac{38016}{36}\) = 1056
