Solution wrong for Q. No. 58 (Question: 26058.2 )

Total no. of students for school C is given as 21% in the pie chart, hence total no. of students = 0.21x30000= 4140, which would make the no. of boys in school C = 2160. Hence, average = (1200+1260+4140)/3=2200.

Answer should be B

DIRECTIONS: Read the graph and answer the questions that follows:

In the following charts, the first pie-chart shows the percentage distribution of total students studying in different schools and the second pie-chart shows the percentage distribution of total girl students studying in these schools. (Total number of students in all the schools together is 30000 and the ratio of boys to girls is 3:2.)

What is the average of the number of boys studying in school A, B and C?
Options:
A) 2150
B) 2200
C) 2350
D) 2400
E) 2450
Solution:

Ans(b);

Boys(A) = (30000 x 0.10) - (12000 x 0.15)

             = 3000 - 1800

             = 1200


Boys(B) = (30000 x 0.09) - (12000 x 0.12)
             = 2700 - 1440

             = 1260


Boys(C) = (30000 x 0.21) - (12000 x 0.18)
             = 6300 - 2160

             =4140


Avg. = (1200 + 1260 + 4140)/3

        = 6600 /3

        = 2200
