Question:

Raman started a business. After 2 months from the start of the business, Sohan and Prem joined. The respective ratio between the investments of Raman, Sohan and Prem was 5 : 7 : 4. If Raman’s share in annual profit was Rs.124 more than Prem’s share, what was the total annual profit earned?

Options:
A)

1045

B)

1054

C)

1000

D)

1030

E)

None of these

Solution:

Ans: (b)

Raman : Sohan : Prem

= 5x × 12 : 7x × 10 : 4x × 10

= 60 : 70 : 40

= 6 : 7 : 4

ATQ,

6x – 4x = 124

2x = 124

x = 62

∴ Total annual profit = 62 × (6 + 7 + 4)

= 62 × 17 = 1054
