both options D and E are same. I answered E and correct answer is option D which gives me negative mark.

Question:

DIRECTIONS: These questions are based on the data given below. 


Each of five friends — Manita, Manik, Manat, Mohit and Martin — bought a car. Each of the cars that they bought was of a different brand, colour, price and weight.

The brands of the cars bought by them are — Sindigo, Twist, Gatiz, Yantra and Pilot. The colours of the cars are among Black, Blue, Yellow, Grey and Brown.


(i)  The brown coloured car is the costliest but it is bought by neither Manik nor Manat.   

(ii) Martin bought a Black coloured car but it is neither Twist nor Yantra.

(iii) Mohit bought a Blue coloured Sindigo, which is costlier than at least two other cars and is also cheaper than at least two other cars.

(iv) Manik bought a Yellow coloured car which is neither a Twist nor Yantra but is the cheapest.

(v) There are at least two cars cheaper than Pilot and among any two cars, the cheaper car always weighs more than the costlier car.

What could be order in which these five cars, when they are arranged in the decreasing order of their weights?
Options:
A) Twist, Gatiz, Yantra, Sindigo and Pilot
B) Yantra, Gatiz, Twist, Sindigo and Pilot
C) Gatiz, Yantra, Sindigo, Twist and Pilot
D) Gatiz, Twist, Sindigo. Pilot and Yantra
E) Gatiz, Twist,Pilot, Sindigo and Yantra
Solution:

Ans (d) Gatiz, Twist, Sindigo, Pilot and Yantra is the order when they are arranged in the decreasing order of their

weights.


From (i), Brown-coloured car is the costliest and it is bought by neither  by Manik nor Manat.

From (ii), Martin bought a Black coloured- car but is neither Twist nor Yantra.

From-(iii), Mohit’s white Sindigo is the third costliest.

From (iv), we get Manik bought a Yellow coloured Gatiz which is the cheapest.

From (v), we get Pilot is bought by Martin and it is the second costliest.

It is also given that the weight of the car is inversely proportional to the cost of the car.
