regarding the roots and their equality condition for the above question (Question:871863.0)

as we solve we get X=Y=-1, which satisfies a condition that X=Y, now on other end we also get roots as X=5/9 and Y=6/7 which if compared gives us the relation 6/7>5/9, which clearly results in the second possible condition that Y>X. Hence the correct answer should be X

DIRECTIONS: In the following questions two equations numbered I and II are given. You have to solve both the equations and give answer.

I. 9x2 + 4x – 5 = 0

II. 7y2 + y – 6= 0

Options:
A) If x > y
B) If x < y
C) If x \(\geq\) y
D) If x \(\leq\)  y
E) If x =y or the relationship between x and y can’t be established

Dear student
After solving the fractional value;
Root of x are= -1 & 0.5
Root of y are= -1 & 0.8
By comparing the values;
-1 = -1,
-1 < 0.8,
0.5 > -1,
0.5 < 0.8
Signs are opposite so answer must be cannot be determine.
