hello sir/madam,
i think question number 61 is wrong, because here we can not establish the relation between variables.

Question:

DIRECTION: In the given question two equations numbered I and II are given. You have to solve both the equations and Give answer if

I. 3x2 + 7x + 2 = 0

II. y2 = 4

Options:
A) x > y
B) x ≥ y
C) x < y
D) x ≤ y
E) x = y or the relationship cannot be established
Solution:

3x2 + 7x + 2 = 0

3x2 + 6x + x + 2 = 0

3x(x + 2) + 1(x + 2) = 0

(3x + 1)(x + 2) = 0

3x = -1

⇒ x = -\(\cfrac{1}{3}\)

x + 2 = 0

x = -2

y2 = 4

y = ± 2

hence, no relationship can be established.

3x2 + 7x + 2 = 0
3x2 + 6x + x + 2 = 0
3x(x + 2) + 1(x + 2) = 0
(3x + 1)(x + 2) = 0
3x = -1
⇒ x = -1/3
x + 2 = 0
x = -2

y2 = 4
y = ± 2

hence, no relationship can be established.
