Question:

Sonu purchased a mobile phone of Rs.10800 and a T.V. of Rs.19200. He sold the mobile phone at three-fourth of its cost price and T.V. at 1\(\cfrac{1}{3}\) of its cost price. What was the profit?

Options:
A) Rs.7000
B) Rs.7300
C) Rs.3700
D) Rs.2700
E) None of these
Solution:
Ans: (c) C.P. of mobile phone = Rs.10800

S.P. of mobile phone = 3/4 x Rs.10800 = Rs. 8100

C.P. of T.V. = Rs.19200

S.P. of T.V. = 4/3 x Rs.19200 = Rs.25600

Total C.P. = 10800 + 19200 = Rs.30000

Total S.P. = 8100 + 25600 = Rs.33700

Profit = 33700 – 30000 = Rs.3700
