in quetion maths and nagarikshatra after holiday but in solution before holidya

Question:

DIRECTIONS: Read the following information and answer the questions that follow:

There are nine papers — Maths, Hindi, English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, History, Civics, Geography — which have to be conducted within the span of a week. At least one paper should be there on every day and no day should have more than two papers. There will be only one holiday during the papers.Exam begins either on Sunday or Wednesday with Biology and there is no other paper on this same day. Geography is accompanied by some other subject but not on Monday. Civics and Maths are on the same day immediately before holiday. The number of papers conducted before holiday will be less than the number of papers conducted after holiday. No other paper will be conducted with Hindi or English. Sunday will come after holiday and Saturday will be the half day. Physics is not on the same day as History. There is only one paper on Monday.

Which day will Civics and Maths be conducted?

Options:
A) Thursday
B) Friday
C) Saturday
D) Sunday
Solution:

Ans: (a) Thursday

Sunday - Biology ... (i) (a) or Wednesday - Biology ... (i) (b)

Monday (x) - Geography, History ... (ii); (Holiday - 1) - Civics, Maths ... (iii)

Now, (i)(a) is ruled out because Sunday will come after holiday.

So, Wednesday (1st day) - Biology ... (i)

And the holiday can be either Friday or Saturday (Thursday can’t be holiday) because of (iii)). But Saturday is a half-day. So Friday is holiday. Applying (iii), we get Thursday - Civics, Maths .... (iii)

So, our table looks like this

Now, since Hindi and English are alone, they can be held on Saturday and Monday, though not respectively so. Now, we are left with Physics, Chemistry, History and Geography. But Physics can’t go with History. So the possible combinations for Sunday/Tuesday are Physics, Chemistry or Physics, Geography or Chemistry, History or Chemistry, Geography or History, Geography.
