in this question the gender of female groups clearly defines, but your solution is can not be define when you grossly examine the puzzle you can see the A ,D, F are females

Question:

DIRECTIONS: Study the following information carefully and answer the questions given below. 


A, B, C, D, E, F, G and H are eight friends travelling in three different cars, viz. X, Y and Z, with atleast two in one car to three different places, viz. Delhi, Chandigarh and Agra. There is atleast one female member in each car. D is travelling with G to Delhi but not in car Y. A is travelling with only H in car Z but not to Chandigarh. C is not travelling with either D or E. F and D are studying in the same only girls’ college. H, B and G are studying in the same only boy’s college.

Which of the following represents the group of females?
Options:
A) F, C, A 
B) F, G, A
C) D, C, A
D) Data inadequate

Solution:

Ans: (d) 

Eight persons A, B, C, D, E, F, G and H are travelling in three different cars X, Y and Z to three different places Delhi, Chandigarh and Agra.

Condition (i) Atleast two persons are in one car.

(ii) Atleast one female member in each car.

According to the given information,

D is travelling with to Delhi but not in car Y. So, they are travelling with car X.

A is travelling with only H in car Z but not to Chandigarh. It means they are going to Agra.

Girls F — D ; Boys—H B G

The above information can be shown as,

A, H → Car Z → Agra

D, G → Car X → Delhi

……. → Car Y → Chandigarh

C is not travelling with either D or E.

Car Z has only two person. H is male, so A is female. So, C travels in car Y and E travels in car X.

Now, we are left with F and B.

So, they travel in car Y.

Now, the information can be shown in tabular form as

Dear student
Given answer is correct.
According to question, we know the gender of AFD are females but we can't give the gender of C and E.
so we can't define the total female..
