in the explanation for question id 144420.2

You had given an example which is
"He suffered a serious injury that obliged him to give up work"

In this example ,Is it right to use "Suffered" instead of using "Suffered from"

Question:
DIRECTIONS: In the given passage there are blanks, each of which has been numbered. Against each, five words are suggested, one of which fits the blanks appropriately. Find the appropriate word in each case.

It might seem natural for senior figures from three furiously sparring political parties to meet in front of a judge. Yet, a recent case before India's Supreme Court found three lawmakers fighting not against one another but against the law itself. They are arguing that a 156-year-old statute that holds defamation to be a _(a)_ offense is both unconstitutional and a danger to free speech (which it is). The petition failed. A two judge panel's 268-page ruling on May 13th _(b)_ the colonial-era law.

This was hardly the first time that India's top judges have failed to _(c)_ politicians. Universally frustrating yet desperately needed, the country's courts are a paradox. The _(d)_ of India's federal system, with its relatively weak executive and a slow-moving Parliament, places an unusually large burden on the judicial pillar. Even more than in America, where judges can seem to legislate from the bench, India's courts _(e)_ their muscles.

Mark the correct option for blank _(c)_.
Options:
A) confirm
B) rescue
C) assume
D) consider
E) oblige
Solution:

Ans:(e) If someone is forced to do something. by law, because it is a duty. etc. he or she is obliged to do it, Parents are obliged by law to send their children to school; he suffered a serious injury that obliged him to give up work. The suitable word for the blank is (e) “oblige.”

'Suffer from' is generally used for illness or ailment
She's been suffering from (= been ill with) cancer for two years.
Johnny suffers from (= is often ill with) asthma.
Do you suffer from (= do you have) any allergies?
