kindly explain more clearly how to solve it

Question:
A shopkeeper sells an article at 20% profit. If he bought it for 10% less and sold it for Rs. 12 less, he would have earned 30% profit. What is the actual cost price?
Options:
A) Rs. 400
B) Rs. 500
C) Rs. 450
D) Rs. 600
E) None of these
Solution:

Now

When difference= 3 then C.P. =100

When difference = 12 then C.P. = \(\frac{12\times100}{3}\)

= Rs. 400/-
