how b related to d

Question:
DIRECTIONS: In the following questions ⨂, ©, $, @ and # are used with the following meanings

“P ⨂ Q” means “P is neither greater than nor smaller than Q”.

“P © Q” means “P is either greater than or equal to Q”.

“P $ Q” means “P is greater than Q”.

“P @ Q” means “P is either smaller than or equal to Q”.

“P # Q” means “P is smaller than Q”.

Now in each of the following question assuming the given statements to be true, find which of the two conclusions I and II given below them is/are definitely true. Give answer.

Statements: D @ A, A ⨂ B, B # K, K @ M

Conclusions:

(I)   B © D

(II)  A # M

Options:
A) If only Conclusion I is true.
B) If only Conclusion II is true.
C) If either Conclusion I or Conclusion II is true.
D) If neither Conclusion I nor Conclusion II is true.
E) If both the Conclusion I and II are true.
Solution:
Ans: (e) Given that,

D @ A, means D ≤ A............ (i)

A ⨂ B means A = B............ (ii)

B # K means B < K............ (iii)

K @M means K ≤ M............ (iv)

On combination all, we get

D ≤ A = B < K ≤ M

So,

B ≥ D (true) and A < M (true)

Hence, both the conclusion I and II are true
