question given dat 1/3 of total profit

Question:
A & B share profits and losses in a company in ratio 8:7. C entered in this company as a new partner, his profit sharing ratio is 1/3 of the total profit.Find out the new profit sharing when C has taken whole of his share of profit from B?
Options:
A) 6:2:5
B) 8:2:5
C) 8:5:2
D) 5:8:2
E) None of these.
Solution:
Profit share ratio of A : B = 8 : 7
profit of A=8/15

profit of B=7/15
profit of C=1/3

According to question,

new profit of A=8/15

new profit of B=(7/15)-(1/3)=2/15.

new profit of C=1/3

Required ratio=(8/15):(2/15):(1/3)

= 8:2:5.
