Find out the difference between the average expense on education and the average expense on entertainment of the couple.
Options:
A) Rs.120
B) Rs.145
C) Rs.124
D) Rs.136
E) None of these
Solution:

Share of education = \(\cfrac{100}{360}\) × 72 = 20%

Share of entertainment = 10%

Share of travelling = 15%

Share of other expenses = 15%

Share of food = 100% - (20% + 10% + 15% + 15%) = 40%

Expense on education for couple = 25% of 3600 = 1200

Average expense on education for couple = \(\cfrac{1200}{2}\) = 600

Expense on entertainment for couple = 40% of 2400 = 960

Average expense on entertainment for couple = \(\cfrac{960}{2}\) = 480

Required difference =  600 – 480= Rs.120
