sir, iam not understanding what the question is saying. you have calculated day 1 then day 2 where is the day given in chart. which column we have to consider day 1 day 2 etc.

Question:

DIRECTIONS: Read the following passage and solve the questions based on it.

Manu, an intelligent baby girl, plucks apples from her father’s orchard on ten consecutive days. When asked by her mother as to how many apples has she plucked from the orchard daily, she gives the following sheet to her mother:

What is the number of apples plucked on day 6?
Options:
A) 45
B) 35
C) 25
D) Cannot be determined
E) None of these
Solution:

No of apples plucked on

Day 1   (1+2+3) + (4+5+6) – (2+3+4+5+6)= 130+145-225 = 50

Day 2   (2+3+4)+ (5+6+7)- (3+4+5+6+7) = 150 + 140 -265 = 25

Day 3   (1+2+3) + (3+4+5) –(1+2+3+4+5) = 130+ 165 -240 = 55

Day 4   (2+3+4) + (4+5+6) -(2+3+4+5+6) = 150+ 145 -225 =70

Day 5   (3+4+5) +(5+6+7) -(3+4+5+6+7) = 165 + 140 -265 = 40

Day 6   (4+5+6) + (6+7+8) –(4+5+6+7+8) = 145-160-270 =35

Day 7   (5+6+7) + (7+8+9) – (5+6+7+8+9) = 140+175-250=65

Day 8   (6+7+8) +(8+9+10) –(6+7+8+9+10) = 160+155-255=60

Day 9   (4+5+6) +(7+8+9) –(4+5+6+7+8) = 145 + 175 -270 =50

Day 10 (5+6+7) +(8+9+10) – (5+6+7+8+9) = 140 +155-250 =45

Therefore No of apples plucked on day 6 is 35.
