ANS (A):

As per the question,

                                  From starting point to point 1; (Speed=40kmph; Time=30min or 1/2 hour) Distance=40*1/2=20km

                                              From  point1 to point 2; (Speed=60kmph; Time=15min or 1/4 hour) Distance= 1/4*60=15km

                                              From  point2 to point 3; (Speed=60kmph; Time=30min or 1/2 hour) Distance= 1/2*60 30=km

                                              From  point3 to point 4; (Speed=150kmph; Time=24min or 4/10 hour) Distance= 4/10*150=60km

                                              From  point4 to point 5; (Speed=60kmph; Time=60min or 1/4 hour) Distance= 1/4*60=15km

  Total distance= 20+15+30+60+15=140 km
