Pls explain (Question: 124621.0 )

If Indian lives 2 floor above the American means, there must be 2 floors between Indian and American right ? that is Indian in 5 then American must be in 2 right ?

DIRECTIONS: Answer the following questions which are based on the information given here.


In a building with 6 floors, the Indian lives two floors above the American. The Australian lives on the floor immediate next to the European. The African does not live on the topmost floor. The Chinese lives in the same building.

If the Indian lives on the 5th floor, then

Options:
A) The African lives on the 4th floor.
B) The Australian lives on the 2nd floor.
C) The European lives on the 6th floor.
D)

The American is on the floor next to the floor of the Chinese.

E) None of these
Solution:
Ans: (a) If the Indian lives on the 5th floor, then American lives on 3rd floor. Thus, Australian and European lives on 1st or 2nd floor and African lives on 4th floor and Chinese on 6th floor.
