Conclusion 2 is true as it says E>L which is true if we combine equation 1 and 2.
Conclusion 1 may or may not be pr 2 is definitely true.

Question:
DIRECTIONS: In the following questions the symbols $, @, #, + and © are used with the following meanings:

“M $ N” means “M is equal to N”.

“M @ N” means “M is either greater than or equal to N”.

“M # N” means “M is either smaller than or equal to N”.

“M + N” means “M is neither greater than nor equal to N”.

“M © N” means “M is neither smaller than nor equal to N”.

Now in each of the following question assuming the given statements to be true, find which of the four conclusions I and II given below them is/are definitely true.

Give answer

(a)   If only Conclusion I is true.

(b)   If only Conclusion II is true.

(c)   If either Conclusion I or Conclusion II is true.

(d)   If neither Conclusion I nor Conclusion II is true.

(e)   If both the Conclusion I and II are true.
Statements: E © F, F @ L, L $ N

Conclusions:

(I)   F $ N

(II)  E © L

Options:
A) Option (a)
B) Option (b)
C) Option (c)
D) Option (d)
E) Option (e)
Solution:
Ans: (b) E © F ⇒ E > F............ (i)

F @ L ⇒ F ≥ L............ (ii)

L $ N ⇒ L = N............ (iii)

On combining (i), (ii) and (iii), we get

E>F ≥ L = N

Conclusions:

I. F=N(May be)

II. E>L (True)

Ans: (b) E © F ⇒ E > F............ (i)
F @ L ⇒ F ≥ L............ (ii)
L $ N ⇒ L = N............ (iii)
On combining (i), (ii) and (iii), we get
E>F ≥ L = N

Conclusions:
I. F=N(May be)

II. E>L (True)
