option 1 also follows

Question:
DIRECTIONS: In these questions, relationship between different elements is shown in the statements. These statements are followed by two conclusions. Select the correct alternative from the given choices.

Statements:

A >B ≥ C; C = E; D ≤ E < A

Conclusions:

I. C > D.

II. B≥ D.

Options:
A) Only I follows
B) Only II follows
C) Both I and II follow
D) Either I or II follows
E) Neither I nor II follows
Solution:

Ans: (b) The given statements are,

A >B ≥ C

C = E

D ≤ E < A

By combining, C=E and D ≤ E < A,

we get C= E ≥ D —(i)

By combining, A > B ≥ C and D ≥ E < A, we get, B ≥ C = E ≥ D — (ii)

Conclusion I, C > D, does not follow.

Conclusion II, B ≥ D, follows.

Therefore, only II follows.
