Note: Total sales value = Number of units sold   Average price per unit

In July the number of units sold by P is 20% more than that by R and the total sales value of P, Q and R in July is equal to the total sales of P in July, November and December. If the total sales value in July is ₹2,57,300 then what is the average price per unit at P in November?
Options:
A) ₹342
B) ₹264
C) ₹212
D) ₹196
E) None of these
Solution:

Let ‘s’ be the number of units sold by ‘R’ in July.

⇒(1.2 × s ×250) + (360 ×180) + (s × 250) = 2,57,300

⇒s = 350

Number of units sold by ‘P’ in July = 350 × 1.2 = 420

So that, Required price

=  \(\cfrac{257300- 420 × 250 - 450 × 150}{400}\)

= ₹212
