X is coming out to be '7' from the equation not '14' and the required answer will be 30.

Question:

Find the sum of two consecutive even numbers, if the difference of whose squares is 60?

Options:
A) 34
B)

46

C) 30
D) 40
Solution:
Ans:(c)

Let the two consecutive even numbers be x and x + 2

As given. (x + 2)2 - (x)2 = 60

\(\Rightarrow\) x = 14

So, the numbers are 14 and 16

So, the required sum = 14+16 = 30

Yes, kanhaiya even I got the same answer as yours, x is 7 in my case as I have assumed 2x, 2x+2 as my two consecutive even numbers but in the solution they have given that required numbers are 28 and 30 which is wrong.
