how your are calculating the percentage i am subtracting the sales of 2000 from the previous year which is 1999 and the value i am getting i am then calculating its percentage with 1999's sales like 25-20=5, 5/20*100=25% and so on then 30-10=20, 20/10*100=200%

Question:
Directions: Following questions ore based on the table given below which represents the percentage growth in the volume of sales of five brands of motor bikes across the years mentioned and the projected increase for the period 2000-2005:

The sales of which motor bike have increased by highest percentage from 1985-1990 to 1995-2000?
Options:
A) Ducati DXTRA
B) Kawasaki TF-910
C) Suzuki Hayabusa
D) Aprilla AS-X 100
E) None of these
Solution:

Let the sales of each bike is x in the year 1985-1990.

Sales of Suzuki in 2000 = x × \(\frac{120}{100}\)×\(\frac{125}{100}\)= 1.5x

Sales of Kawasaki in 2000 = x × \(\frac{110}{100}\) × \(\frac{120}{100}\)= 1.32x

Sales of Honda in 2000 = x × \(\frac{110}{100}\) × \(\frac{120}{100}\) = 1.32x

Sales of Ducati in 2000= x × \(\frac{110}{100}\) × \(\frac{130}{100}\)= 1.43x

Sales of Aprilla in 2000 = x × \(\frac{110}{100}\) × \(\frac{110}{100}\) = 1.21x

Therefore, highest sales is for Suzuki Hayabusa.
