it seems wrong solution as 2 hours for 20 kmph and 2 hours for 2*20kmph not considered

Question:

Chirag starts walking towards the south from his initial position at a speed of 20 km/hr. After two hours, he turns left and doubles his speed.He stops after walking for another two hours. He then turns right, walks for one more hour at the same speed and then stops. What was the distance between initial and final point?

Options:
A) \(88\sqrt{2}\)
B) \(80\sqrt{2}\)
C) \(83\sqrt{2}\)
D) \(89\sqrt{2}\)
E) \(75\sqrt{2}\)
Solution:

Ans: (b)

AD is the distance between initial and final position of Chirag.

AD = AE + ED= \(40\sqrt{2} + 40\sqrt{2} = 80\sqrt{2}\)
