not getting the explenation

Question:
A trader sold a television at a discount of 20%, thereby obtaining a profit of 16%. Had he sold it at the marked price, he would have gained a profit of Rs.10,800. What is the price at which he sold the television?
Options:
A) Rs.23,380
B) Rs.25,560
C) Rs.27,840
D) Rs.29,120
E) None of these
Solution:

Ans:(c)

Alternate solution:

\(\cfrac{MP(100-DIS.)}{100}= SP\)

\(\cfrac{M(100-80)}{100}=116\)%

\(M=\cfrac{116\times100}{80}=145\)%

Lets MP 100% then profit on mp = 45%

45%=10800

1%=240

\(\therefore\)116%=27840
