mixture and alligation

 One Litre of water is evaporated from 8 litre solution containing 5% sugar.The percentage of sugar in the remaining solution is....?    Answer with its solution.

Total mixture = 8 litre

quantity of sugar in the mixture = 5% of 8 = (1/20)*8 = 2/5 = 0.4

Quantity of water in the mixture = 8 - 0.4 = 7.6


Now, one litre water is evaporated, so Remaining mixture = 8-1 = 7 litre

So, Required percentage = (0.4 * 100) / 7 = 40/7 = 5 and 5/7 %
