Make the correction for the word "above" and change it into "ago".

Question:
DIRECTIONS: In each of the following questions, a question is followed by information given in two statements. You have to study the question along with the statements and decide, the information given in which of the statements (s) is necessary to answer the question?

What is the age of Ravi's son?

I. Ravi got married six year ago today his age is 1\(\cfrac{1}{4}\) times his age at the time of marriage.

II.  His son's is \(\cfrac{1}{10}\) times his age.

Options:
A) If the question can be answered by using statement I alone but not by using statement II alone
B) If the question can be answered by using statement II alone but not by using statement I alone
C) If the question can be answered by using either of the statements alone
D) If the question can be answered by using both the statements together but not by either of the statements alone
E) If the question cannot be answered even by using both the statements together
Solution:

Ans(d)

From both the statements,

Let Ravi’s age 6 years ago be x.

∴ (x + 6) = \(\cfrac{5}{4}\) x ⇔ 4(x + 6) = 5x  ⇔ x = 24

∴ Ravi’s present age = 30 years.

∴ Ravi’s son’s presents age  = (\(\cfrac{1}{10}\) × 30) years = 3 years.
