question says latha is 3 places away from roja
solution is taking only 2 places

Question:

DIRECTIONS: Each of the questions below consists of a question and two statements numbered I and II given below it. You have to decide whether the data provided in the statements are sufficient to answer the question.

Eight friends - Srujan, Keerti, Roja, Lata, Rohan, Rakesh, Kripa, and Geeta are seated in a row facing noith but not necessarily in the same order.

Latha is three places away from Roja and neither of them is at an end. Geetha sits to the immediate right of Rohan who is not adjacent to Latha.

Who sits at the left end of the row?

I. Rakesh and Kripa sit adjacent to each other.

Rohan sits to the left of Srujan.

II. Keerti sits second to the left of Geeta.

Kripa does not sit at any of the ends.

Options:
A)

If only statement I is sufficient to answer the question.

B)

If the data in both the statements I and II together are necessary to answer the question.

C)

If the data even in both the statements together are not sufficient to answer the question.

D)

If only statement II is sufficient to answer the question.

E)

If the data either in statement I alone or in statement II alone are sufficient to answer the question.

Solution:

Ans: (b) From statement I, the given data is not sufficient to answer the question.

From statement II, the given data is not sufficient to answer the question.

Even after combining both the statements we get the following arrangements.

Hence, data given in both statements are necessary to answer the question.
