Question:

DIRECTIONS: Study the following table carefully to answer these questions.

Profit made (in Rs.1000) by six persons in the different days of a week.

What is the ratio of the total profit earned by ‘Q’ and ‘R’ on Monday, Tuesday and Friday to the total profit earned by ‘T’ and ‘U’ on same day?

Options:
A) \(\cfrac{440}{471}\)
B) \(\cfrac{471}{440}\)
C) \(\cfrac{417}{440}\)
D) \(\cfrac{440}{417}\)
E) None of these
Solution:
Ans: (c) Total profit earned by ‘Q’ and ‘R’ on Monday, Tuesday and Friday

= [(5.6 + 3.8 + 5) + (32.4 + 28.8 + 49.5)]1000

= 1,25,100

Total profit earned by ‘T’ and ‘U’ on Monday, Tuesday and Friday

= [(21.7 + 35.5 + 30) + (10.5 + 12 + 22.3)]1000

= 1,32,000

Required ratio = \(\cfrac{125100}{132000}\) = \(\cfrac{417}{440}\)
