can someone please explain the logic behind this solution?

Question:
Find the area of the largest (or maximum sized) square that can be made inside a right angle triangle having sides 6cm, 8cm & 10cm when one of vertices of the square coincide with the vertex of right angle of the triangle ?
Options:
A) \(\cfrac{576}{49}\) cm2
B) 24 cm2
C) \(\cfrac{24}{7}\) cm2
D) 28 cm2
E) None of these
Solution:

Side of maximum sized square

= \(\cfrac{8 × 6}{8 + 6}\)= \(\cfrac{24}{7}\)

∴ area of square = (\(\cfrac{24}{7}\))2 = \(\cfrac{576}{49}\) cm2

in a right angle triangle, the area of the region made by perpendiculars to height and base from mid-point of hypotenuses is maximum....Thats it....
