Answer is D 50KMPH

Question:

A person travels from P to Q at a speed of 40km./hr and returns by increasing his speed by 50%. What is his average speed for both the trips?

Options:
A)

36km/hr.

B)

45km/hr.

C)

48 km/hr.

D)

50km/hr.

E)

None of these

Solution:

If there is 50% increase in 40 krns/hr

Then 40 ×  150100    = 60 km/hr.

Average speed =  2x×yx+y

∴  2×40×60100    = 48 kms/hr.
