DIRECTIONS: Study the following information carefully to answer the given questions:


A movie production house releases eight movies - Q, R, S, T, V, W, Y and Z only in India. The movies were released one after the other over a period of eight years. The order in which the movies were released is consistent with the following conditions:


(i)  V is released before both Y and Q.

(ii)  Q gets released after Z.

(iii) T gets released before V but after R.

(iv) S gets released after V.

(v)  R gets released before W
If Z is the seventh movie to be released, then which one of the following could be true? 
Options:
A) W is the fifth movie to be released. 
B)

T is the fourth movie to be released

C) R is the second movie to be released. 
D)

Y is the eighth movie to be released.

E) None of these
Solution:

Ans : (a) If Z is the seventh movie, then Q has to be released at the eighth place and so (e) does not hold.

Clearly, V has to have each one of Y, Q, S and the Z at the seventh place after it. So, (d) does not hold.

R can have only Z before it. But Z is at the seventh place. So, R shall be’ first. Thus (c) does not hold.

If Z is the seventh movie, we may have the sequence R, T, V, S, W, Y, Z, Q. which satisfies all conditions. Hence, (a) holds.
