correct option should be B

Question:

20% of the total cost of a plot of area 395 sq. ft. is \(\unicode{x20B9} \)78,210.

Quantity I-  What is the rate per sq. ft. of the plot?

Quantity II- if 10% of the total cost of that plot is 40100  then find the rate per sq ft of the plot.

Options:
A) Quantity I > Quantity II
B) Quantity I < Quantity II
C) Quantity I ≥ Quantity II
D) Quantity I ≤ Quantity II
E) Quantity I = Quantity II or the relation can’t be determined
Solution:
Ans: (D)

Quantity I- 20% of the total cost of plot =

\(\unicode{x20B9} \)78,210

\(\Rightarrow\) 10% of the total cost of plot = \(\unicode{x20B9} \)39,105

\(\Rightarrow\)Total cost of plot = 39105 x 10 = \(\unicode{x20B9} \)3,91,050

Rate per square feet of plot

\(= \cfrac{391050}{395} = \unicode{x20B9} 990\)

Quantity II-

\(\Rightarrow\) 10% of the total cost of plot = \(\unicode{x20B9} \)40100

\(\Rightarrow\)Total cost of plot = 401000

Rate per square feet of plot

= 401000/395 = 1015.18
