DIRECTIONS: In the given passage there are blanks, each of which has been alphabet. Against each, five words are suggested, one of which fits the blanks appropriately. Find the appropriate word in each case.


One autumn evening in London, I was part of __(a)__ throng at the National Film Theatre. We were waiting for the screening of Smiley's People, the BBC adaptation of John le Carre's novel starring Alec Guinness. There was an extra frisson of __(b)__ though, as rumour had it that le Carre himself was going to be __(c)__, signing books.
