i do agree we need to use an article "a" but how do we know that if it is placed before battle or after more. can you help me to identify this

Question:

DIRECTIONS: Read the sentences to find out whether there is any error in it. The error, if any, will be in one part of the sentence. The number of that part is the answer. If there is no error then the answer is (e). Ignore errors of punctuation, if any.

The election is more battle (a)/ of interests rather than (b) a debate about (c)/ a future vision of society (d)/ No Error (e).

Options:
A)

(a)

B)

(b)

C)

(c)

D)

(d)

E)

(e)

Solution:

Ans: (a) The error lies in part (a), indefinite article ‘a’ is missing before the word ‘battle’. As a rule, singular countable nouns need to be preceded with an indefinite article ‘a’ or ‘an’.
