DIRECTIONS: In the ‘given questions, assuming the given statements to be true. Find which of the conclusions numbered I and II is/are definitely true and give your answer accordingly.

Statements

G < R \(\leq\) I = N; R \(\geq\) Q > S 

Conclusions

I. N > Q 

II. N = Q

Options:
A)

Neither conclusion I nor conclusion II is true

B)

Either conclusion I or II is true

C) Only conclusion II is true
D) Only conclusion I is true 
E) Both conclusions I and II are true
Solution:
Ans: (b) In the statements G < R \(\leq\) I = N     .....(i) 
and R \(\geq\) Q > S     .....(ii)

In conclusion I, N > Q

From, (i) and (ii), we get

N = l \(\geq\) R \(\geq\) Q 

or N \(\geq\) R \(\geq\) Q

Here, N > Q and N = Q

So, N \(\geq\) Q

In conclusion II, N = Q

From Eqs. (i) and (ii), we have N \(\geq\) Q

Therefore, either conclusion I or II is true.
