There are four cases can be made if x and y both have two values as we see in previous one.
if in all the cases < appears then resultant will be <
if in all the cases > appears then resultant will be >
if in all the cases = appears then resultant will be =
If all the three inequality symbols appears viz. <>= then no relationship can be established.
if in some cases > and in some < appears then aslo then no relationship can be established.
if in some cases > and in some = appears then resultant will be >=
if in some cases < and in some = appears then resultant will be <=
I hope it will help you :)

x=10,12 and y=12,14
Compare Now,
10<12 means x<y _______(1)
10<14 means x<y _______(2)
12=12 means x=y _______(3)
12<14 means x<y _______(4)
On combining(1),(2),(3) and (4), we get
x<=y which is marked as answer.
