in the question february is not mentioned na so I should be false?

Question:

Given question is followed by two statements, I and II. Answer the question by selecting the correct alternative.

Question:

Was the year X a leap year?

Statement:

I.    In the year X, there was no month which did not have at least one day of the week occurring at least five times.

II.   If only the days in the year X are considered, then there was no day which had as many days before it as after it.

Options:
A)

if the question can be answered by using statement I alone but not by using statement II alone.

B) if the question can be answered by using statement II alone but not by using statement I alone.
C)

if the question can be answered by using both the statements together but not by either of the

statements alone.

D)

if the question can be answered by using either of the statements alone.

E) if the question cannot be answered on the basis of the two statements.
Solution:

Ans (d) From statement I alone if year X was a leap year then the month of February should not have any day of the week occurring five times or more.

⇒ The year was a leap year

∴ I alone is sufficient

From statement II alone: The number of days in the year is odd hence the year X must have 365 days i.e. it is not a leap year.

∴ II alone is sufficient.
