I have a doubt in this question (Question:62585.1)

In venn diagram only one follws but answer is either or

DIRECTIONS: In the question below, there are few statements followed by few conclusions. You have to take the given statements to be true even if they seem to be at variance with commonly known facts and then decide which of the given conclusion logically follow(s) from the given statements. 
Statements:

Some authors are poets.

No poet is a lady.

All poets are singers.


Conclusions:

I. Some singers are not ladies

II. Some singers are ladies.

Options:
A) If only conclusion I follows
B) If only conclusion II follows
C) If either conclusion I or II follows
D) If neither conclusion I nor II follows
E) If both conclusions I and II follow
Solution:

Ans: (c) If either conclusion I or II follows.

Dear student, As there are two possible venn diagrams so we cannot be certain about either of the conclusion but one of them definately follows. So Either 1 or 2 follows will be the correct answer.
