I dont understand explanation. Can you please elaborate?

Question:
DIRECTIONS : Given question is followed by two statements, I and II. Answer the question by selecting the correct alternative.

Question:

An island is inhabited by two tribes — truth teller, who always tell the truth and liar, who always lie. P, Q and R belong to that island. P says, ‘Neither Q nor R is a liar. Find the tribes of P, Q and R.

Statement:

I. R says, “Neither P nor Q is a truth-teller”.

II. Q says, “Exactly one of P and R is a liar”.

Options:
A)

if the question can be answered by using statement I alone but not by using statement II alone.

B) if the question can be answered by using statement II alone but not by using statement I alone
C)

if the question can be answered by using both the statements together but not by either of the statements alone

D)

if the question can be answered by using either of the statements alone

E)

if the question cannot be answered on the basis of the two statements

Solution:

Ans: (b) From statement I and the given information if P is a truth-teller, then R must not be a liar, which is contradicting with R’s statement.

⇒ P is a liar.

Exactly one of Q and R is a liar.

But we cannot say, who is a liar.

I alone is not sufficient.

From II, if P is a truth-letter, then Q must be a truth teller.

⇒ R must be a liar, which is contradicting P’s statement

⇒ P is a liar.

Q and R are truth-tellers.

This is the only possibility.

II alone is sufficient.

An island is inhabited by two tribes — truth teller, who always tell the truth and liar, who always lie. P, Q and R belong to that island. P says, ‘Neither Q nor R is a liar. Find the tribes of P, Q and R.
According to this, P is a liar and statement II is justifying it but statement does not justify it.
