how can u find the direction of A

Question:

DIRECTIONS: These questions are based on the following information:

Eight persons − A, B, C, D, E, F, G and H− sit around a circular table, but not necessarily in that order. Some are facing the centre and the remaining are facing away from the centre. D sits third to the left of G, who is adjacent to C. H sits second to the right of C and second to the left of B. C and H face different directions. E sits third to the right of H. A sits to the immediate left of D, A and G opposite to each other and facing same direction. E and F face the same direction as H faces.

What is the ratio of the persons who are facing away from the centre to the persons who are facing the centre ?

Options:
A)

5:3

B)

1:1

C)

3:5

D)

1:3

Solution:

Ans: (c) It is given that D sits third to the left of G, who is adjacent to C. H sits second to the right of C and second to the left of B. C and H face different directions. Hence, the possible cases are,

Given, E sits third to the right of H In case (i) and case (ii), E sits to the immediate left of C. Given, A sits to the immediate left of D and faces G. Hence, case (ii) is eliminated as G faces away from the center. In case (i), A sits to the immediate right of B and F sits to the immediate left of B. Given, E and F face the same direction as H. Hence, E and F face away from the center.

∴ The final circular arrangement is as shown below.

3:5
