since cp is 48000 in Q2 and 400 in Q1 So answer should be Q2>Q1

Question:
DIRECTIONS: In the following question, two statements numbered I and II are given, on solving them, we get quantities I and II respectively. Compare both the quantities and choose the correct option.

Quantity I-A shopkeeper sells an article at 20% profit. If he bought it for 10% less and sold it for Rs. 12 less, he would have earned 30% profit. What is the actual cost price?

Quantity II-C.P. of two articles is same. One sold at 15% profit and the other for Rs. 4800 more than the first. If the net profit is 20 % then find the C.P. of each article ?

Options:
A) Quantity I > Quantity II
B) Quantity I < Quantity II
C) Quantity I ≥ Quantity II
D) Quantity I ≤ Quantity II
E) Quantity I = Quantity II or the relation can’t be determined
Solution:
Ans: (a)

From Quantity I,

Now,

When difference= 3 then C.P. =100

When difference = 12 then C.P. = \(\frac{12\times100}{3}\)

= Rs. 400/-

From Quantity II,

S.P.2 = 240 – 115

= Rs. 125

Difference = S.P.2 - S.P.1 = 10

If difference = 10 then C.P. = 100

If difference = 4800 then C.P.

 = \(\cfrac{10\times4800}{100} = 480\) = Rs. 480
