what should be the correct sentence

Question:

DIRECTIONS: Read each sentence to find out whether there is any grammatical error in it. The error, if any, will be in one part of the sentence. Mark the part with the error as your answer. If there is no error, mark 'No error' as your answer. (Ignore the errors of punctuation, if any)

I know very well / that you are not liking this sari / which I painstakingly ordered / online early last week. / No error

Options:
A)

I know very well

B)

that you are not liking this sari

C)

which I painstakingly ordered

D)

online early last week.

E)

No error

Solution:

Ans: (b)

The error is in (2) in which a stative verb (‘like”) is used as if it were a dynamic verb. Stative verbs such as “like, appreciate, dislike, love, know, understand,” etc. cannot be used in the present or past continuous forms. Therefore it’s wrong to say, ‘P am liking only this book”; the correction is: I like only this book. The correction of the sentence is: “ - that you do not like this sari - “ Some more examples: I appreciate your patience; I understand your need for money; I know your needs. All the verbs used in these sentences are stative verbs and they are used without an -ing form at the end of the verbs in them.
