HOW AMIR'S GENDER IS CONSIDERED. AND ALSO HOW THE ARRANGEMENTS ON BENCHES ARE DONE

Question:

DIRECTIONS: Read the following information carefully and answer the questions given below.


Amir, Bikram, Charlie, David(girl), Emraan, Fahim and Gaurav are seven students in a class. They are sitting on three benches-Mahogany, Oak and Maple in such a way that there is at least two of them on each bench and there is at least one girl on each bench. Charlie, a girl student, does not sit with Amir, Emraan and David. Fahim, a boy student, sits only with Bikram. Amir sits with his best friend on bench Mahogany. Gaurav sits on bench Maple. Emraan is the brother of Charlie.

How many girl students are there?

C) 3 or 4

Solution:
Sol:- (c) David, Bikram and Charlie are girls. Possibility of fourth girl still exists because sex of Gaurav is unknown. 

On the basis of above information we get:

Mahogany:           Amir(boy)             David (girl)                  Emraan(boy)

Oak:                     Fahim(boy)           Bikram(girl)

Maple:                  Gaurav                  Charlie(girl)
