As per the input given, -2 is the final solution. Then from where did -5 come in the last??

Question:

DIRECTIONS: Study the following information carefully and answer the given questions.

A number arrangement machine arranges two digit numbers into a typical manner. Each step takes gives output taking input from the previous step. The following is an illustration of Input and rearrangement. Using the illustration answer the question given below.

Input:

If the value “5” is subtracted from the final output then what will be the resultant value?

Options:
A)

–7

B)

3

C)

–3

D)

4

E)

None of these

Solution:

Ans: (a) Input:

Step–1

First digit of first number = 1

Second digit of fourth number = 3

Multiplication = 1 × 3 = 3

Second digit of first number = 2

First digit of fourth number = 1

Multiplication = 2 × 1 = 2

Digits of first number = 3 and 2

First digit of second number = 2

Second digit of fifth number = 3

Multiplication = 2 × 3 = 6

Second digit of second number = 2

First digit of Fifth number = 2

Multiplication= 2 × 2 = 4

Digits of second number = 6 and 4

First digit of third number = 3

Second digit of sixth number = 1

Multiplication = 3 × 1 = 3

Second digit of third number = 1

First digit of sixth number = 2

Multiplication = 1 × 2 = 2

Digits of third number = 3 and 2

Step–2

(Sum of first digit in all number) = 3 + 6 + 3 = 12

(Sum of second digit in all number) = 2 + 4 + 2 = 8

Step–3

Multiplication of all digits in a number-

1 × 2 = 2 ⇒ 0 × 8 = 8

Final Step-

First number is subtracted from the second number.

0 – 2 = –2

–2 – 5 = –7

Dear student
Please read the question carefully- If the value “5” is subtracted from the final output then what will be the resultant value?
Final output is = -2
We have to subtract 5 from -2 ;
So (-2) - (5) = (-7)
I hope you get it now.
