once he paid money he was relieved of all his responsibilities. may be the right sentence.
or
once he has paid money he is relieved of all his responsibilities.
may be the right sentence.
so which part of the sentence should be marked as an error? part A or part B?
and why?
pls tell me , i am confused.

Question:

DIRECTIONS: Read these sentences to find out whether there is any grammatical mistake/error in them. The error, if any, will be in one part of the sentence. Mark the part with the error as your answer. If there is no error, mark ‘No error’ as your answer. (Ignore the errors of punctuation, if any)

He thinks that (a)/ once he paid money (b)/ he is relieved of (c)/ all his responsibilities. (d)/ No error (e)

Options:
A) (a)
B) (b)
C) (c)
D) (d)
E) (e)
Solution:

Expression should read out as ‘once he has paid’. This reflects the effect of an action done in the past to the present.

e.g. Once you have submitted the form then you are to wait for a month.

part B has error as in A 'thinks' is used so the complete sentence must be in present tense
